Unboxed

During my internship at LEGO Education, I helped develop an interactive unboxing experience for a partner conference in Billund. We built 25 LEGO boxes that "come to life" using modified hardware and immersive sounds. I worked on prototyping, hardware adjusting, and optimizing the production process.

Over 50 constructions, with 2 for each box to have 4 movement points with the 4 pillars being able to move in and out independently.

We created 6 animations in total, of which we used 3 during the presentation and they are listed below. The ones on the right did not make it into the partner conference presentation.

Communicative sketch showing the final design concept with the cardboard box construction and the 4 Spike Prime motors controlling the motion of the 4 poles in each corner.

We extracted the PCBs from the Spike Prime hub elements to adjust the hardware components and modified them with TRS cables to enable new audio output options. This was needed to upgrade the audio system with external speakers.
